Did you notice?
Hello, Medium fam!
I logged into Medium and noticed the interface is quite different than the usual. The menu that would open up on the top right now opens up on the left and bottom left. That means all the important menu options will now be on the opposite side of the screen.
It did seem weird at first but I think it’s starting to grow on me. I think this new design has a more professional and organized feel to it.
Plus, there’s more emphasis on article recommendations that share a similar topic to the one you’re currently reading. I think that’s great because it allows you the chance to explore content from different writers that you would have otherwise missed.
Another cool thing that I noticed is that if you are reading someone’s article then you will find that other articles written by them are conveniently displayed below the one you are reading. This feature is great because it gives readers a chance to glance at the headings of other works by the same author to potentially pique their interest. If they do happen to click, it will help boost the views and read time for those additional articles.
Overall, I think Medium’s new interface looks pretty cool.
What do you think? Do you prefer the old one or the new one?
